FAQ
Q: Where are you located?
A: We are located at 26 Forest St in New Canaan, CT. We are near the center of New Canaan, right next to the Gelato shop!
Q: Where are your teachers from? Have they been on Broadway?
A: All of our teachers come to us from New York City; they are professional actors, singers, dancers and musicians who are currently working in their respective professions and take their extra time to come work with us! Several have been on Broadway and all do professional work in the city and around the world. Most importantly, we are lucky enough to have teachers who are both wildly talented and incredible teachers!
Q: What age can I start my child? Do you teach adults?
A: We have dance & musical theatre classes starting at age 4, and each class has age ranges listed. We usually recommend private lessons start at age 7 and above. And we absolutely teach adults, usually in a private lesson setting. Remember, it's never too late to start!
Q: Can I take piano lessons as well as voice?
A: Absolutely! Several of our voice teachers also teach piano. Your lesson can be split (if 60 minutes) to accommodate both. Or you can take lessons on separate days, even with separate teachers.
Q: Can I do a trial lesson?
A: Of course! If you would like to come in and try a lesson with any of our teachers, give Lorah a call and she'll get you set up. If you love it (which of course you will!) we can keep you on the schedule. The lesson will be billed as a regular lesson.
Q: When are lessons?
A: Lessons are offered Monday through Friday from 12-9:15 and on Saturdays from 10:30-5:15. Your lesson is scheduled in every week at the same time with the same teacher.
Q: How do I pay?
A: Classes are billed at the beginning of the semester. Lessons are billed each month in advance. Invoices are sent out via email. You can pay online, with a check, or we can keep your credit card on file.
Q: What if I have to miss my lesson one week?
A: While you are responsible for your time (both financially and schedule-wise) we understand things come up. Please give us 24-hours notice and the teacher can reschedule at their discretion.
Q: What are the dates of the semester?
A: Our semesters runs from September 5-January 27 & January 29-June 8. We are closed for most New Canaan Public School breaks.
Q: What are the days of the recitals and performances?
A: Check out our calendar for exact dates! The recitals happen at the end of each semester and class performances during class on the final day.
